Be sure to watch for our broadcasts on school television sets during the following times:

Tuesday: 11:45-11:50am
Friday: 11:45-11:50am
Television Production 11/12

In addition to giving students a more in-depth look into all of the aspects of video production covered in Video Production 9/10, this course explores all areas of live television production. The roles included in this are audio and lighting technician, camera operator, video switcher, writer, control room room director, floor director, anchor, and producer. Students will put on two to three live broadcasts per week to the student body via an in-house, closed-circuit television system. Broadcasts include special interest stories, interviews, school and sports highlights and important announcements. Again, it is a “hands-on” course with students gaining practical experiences through individual and group projects and critique sessions.

The Hurricane Studioworks Academy is for any student interested in any type of media, whether it be on camera or behind the scenes. The academy has also developed a partnership with BCIT’s Television Production Program which means students who successfully complete the Hurricane Studioworks Academy Program will receive preferred entrance into BCIT’s program.
